Bernice Saxon, managing partner and co-founder of Saxon, Gilmore, Carraway & Gibbons, P.A., has practiced law for more than thirty years, specializing in corporate and business transactions, contracts, merger and acquisitions, real estate law, public, affordable and workforce housing, mixed finance real estate transactions, tax credits, and estate planning/trusts and estates. Ms. Saxon received both her law degree and her undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Toledo in Ohio, where she later taught at the College of Law. She was a member of the University of Toledo Law Review.

Ms. Saxon has significant experience in handling claims arising under various consumer protection statutes, including without limitation, the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq. (FDCPA); the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act, Fla. Stat.559.55 et seq. (FCCPA); the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C 1681 et seq. (FCRA); the Federal Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, 12 U.S.C 2601 et seq. (RESPA); and, the Federal Truth In Lending Act, 15 U.S.C 1601 et seq. (TILA).

Ms. Saxon is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar, the Florida Bar, Florida Housing Coalition, and Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. She is admitted to practice in Florida, Ohio, U.S. District Court (Middle and Northern Districts of Florida) and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
